Faith-based App to Help Children Learn the Bible

We are setting the stage for biblical training & individual achievement.”

— Vicky Elizabeth Lynch

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES, July 30, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — The advancement of technology affords designers the opportunity to develop innovative and exciting new apps. The faith-based community is no exception. Vicky E. Lynch, an entrepreneur and visionary, took her love of the Bible, education, and her knowledge of technology and melded it into a ground-breaking, inspirational app just for kids ages 3-12 years old. The app motivates children to learn the Bible through 41 memorable poems, beautiful illustrations and a licensed partnership with Psalty Kids Co! to teach 26 scriptures with "The Bible Alphabet Song." The new app, Theo & Izzy the Word Seekers, is currently available as a free download through the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. A video highlighting the app's features is available here: http://bit.ly/2qprHHt.

Lynch came up with the idea for the app while putting her children to bed. "I realized that I could consolidate stories broken into several chapters in an interesting way that didn't feel overwhelming when I wanted them to sleep. Part two of the vision came when I formed a curriculum for children's Bible studies. I shared it with my children. With joy, they learned about the Bible, but wanted something visual like a video game. Instead, I decided to create an app," says Vicky. With a background in software development, Vicky conceptualized much of the creative and technical aspect of the app.

To complement the app, there is a story book which follows the stories. Children will enjoy the thrilling adventures that characters Theo and Izzy take them on. With characters that are easily relatable, children will connect with them immediately. Lynch, who serves as founder, director, product manager and writer of the app, through her organization, Words from a Childlike Heart, hopes that Theo & Izzy the Word Seekers encourages children to live out their own personal Bible experiences. With a goal to teach children valuable lessons found in each story, Vicky aims to make biblical narratives sensational and thought-provoking for kids. Through original music by 1 Vision Music Productions and narration by Voice Over Artist, Lisa Biggs, the presence of children makes the app keenly targeted to its intended audience. Feeling a call to spread the gospel and encourage literacy in this unique way, Vicky wants to ignite a spark in children for the Bible and for reading. She also hopes that Theo and Izzy serve as role models for kids.

The music and books are available for purchase on http://www.wordsfromachildlikeheart.com.

On ABC Elizabeth shows how to make goat milk soap, discusses natural soap trend & offers 25% HorseOPeace.com discount

If you think soap has to be expensive with ingredients you can’t pronounce, you haven't met Elizabeth Sanders. She makes natural, very affordable HorseOPeace soap that’s making a lot of folks happy.”

— Keith Taylor of ABC's Good Day Tulsa

TULSA, OK, ,, July 29, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — ABC’s Good Day Tulsa showcased Elizabeth Sanders, founder of HorseOPeace goat milk soap who talked about the trend to natural soap, showed how-to make soap and offered a 25% price cut to viewers using coupon code ABC17 at HorseOPeace.com for them to try her soaps without any chemicals in most store brands.

Hit ABC KTUL-TV talk show star Keith Taylor told Oklahomans, “If you think soap has to be expensive and filled with ingredients you can’t even pronounce, you haven’t met Elizabeth Sanders of HorseOPeace. She makes all natural, very affordable HorseOPeace soap that’s making a lot of folks happy.”

Elizabeth said, “At HorseOPeace we use 100% raw goat milk, without any water. If your soap is made with water, as most are, it will dry your skin and won’t have the moisturizing quality found in nutrient-rich raw goat milk, which makes us different from other soap companies. HorseOPeace.com soap keeps all skin types healthy, supple and soft.”

She added, “The question we are most asked is if HorseOPeace soap is natural and has full disclosure of ingredients, and we assure people that our goat milk soap is all natural and our ingredients are listed on the back of every label.”

Keith and Elizabeth discussed the benchmark New York Times article about the trend to natural soap as the Times noted, “HorseOPeace sells 17 kinds of raw goats’ milk soap bars, scented and unscented. An average order is six to eight bars, though some customers buy as many as 30 decidedly unpretentious bars a year.” In reporting Elizabeth’s adherence to using totally natural ingredients, she told the Times “HorseOPeace soaps are all naturally beige. We’re not trying to beautify with dyes and make it look unnatural.”

She told Keith, “HorseOPeace natural goat milk soaps benefit all skin types and are especially good for dry skin, eczema or psoriasis. We also recently launched our Healthy Pets line of specially formulated shampoo bars since skin issues are a major reason people bring their pets to the vet.”

During a media week set by DobsonPR.com, Elizabeth appeared on leading CBS, NBC, ABC, KJAG and FOX news and talk shows in six cities.

Elizabeth founded HorseOPeace a decade ago when living an Amish-like life, training horses during frigid Wisconsin winters that dried and cracked her hands until they healed when she began making goat milk soap. She realized the potential to help others and the business opportunity and formed HorseOPeace.com. Since then, she left that “plain people” lifestyle, married IT-executive Nick, and they homeschool their four sons, aged two to six.

Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, HorseOPeace.com has customers across the USA and internationally. Elizabeth Sanders’ goat milk soaps are available at www.HorseOPeace.com, Facebook.com/HorseOPeace and Amazon. HorseOPeace customers often join her Soap of the Month Club and enjoy family and business updates at HorseOPeace.com/blog, Twitter.com/HorseOPeace and Instagram.com/HorseOPeaceRanch. Solar Street Lights Illuminate Bujumbura, Burundi

Gigawatt Global launches its off-grid program in Africa, starting in Bujumbura

Bujumbura Mayor and Gigawatt Global leaders Michael Fichtenberg and Nathaniel Johnson sign the solar “Light Islands” deal

“Educating the next generation about how to use solar is part of our mission,” says Yosef Abramowitz, CEO of Gigawatt Global

Solar Pioneer Gigawatt Global Expands its Green Energy Offerings in Africa

By expanding our investments from commercial scale projects to include off-grid additionally, we are positively impacting the lives of millions of people in Burundi and throughout Africa”

— Yosef I. Abramowitz, CEO, Gigawatt Global

AMSTERDAM , HOLLAND , July 19, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Downtown Bujumbura just got a little brighter, thanks to an innovative partnership between Mayor Freddy MBONIMPA and Gigawatt Global, a founding member of United States Power Africa's Beyond the Grid program.

This week solar-powered "light islands" began appearing in the heavily-trafficked central bus station and nearby marketplace, extending commercial hours and personal safety.

“The city of Bujumbura is very pleased to be working with Gigawatt Global on this important solar street lighting project," said Mayor Freddy MBONIMPA. "This project will enhance security as well as provide opportunities for economic development to the citizens of Bujumbura. It is the hope and wish of all involved that this project can spread throughout the city, as well as expand to other cities in Burundi within the near future.”

Gigawatt Global is now in discussions to scale the solar-powered "light islands" program throughout the city and in other major Burundian towns. "We are grateful and pleased to work with the city of Bujumbura, and the Honorable Mayor Freddy MBONIMPA to realise this important first step of the solar street lighting project," said Michael Fichtenberg, Managing Director of Gigawatt Global Burundi. "We intend to expand throughout the capital and to other locations as part of our larger program of green electrification in Burundi, with 40 'light islands' planned in the first phase of the program," Fichtenberg continued. "Every country in which we develop commercial scale solar fields will receive additional benefits like these 'light islands' and rural electrification with mini-grids."

Gigawatt Global, which provides 100% financing for its projects, pioneered commercial scale solar power plants in sub-Sahara Africa, launching the first one in Rwanda in 2014, which is currently supplying 6% of the country's generation capacity. Gigawatt Global will complete a 7.5 Mw solar field in the Gitega region of Burundi in the next six months, which will supply 15% of the East African country's generation capacity. Similar projects are currently being developed in 10 African countries, including Liberia and South Sudan, among many others.

"Over 95% of Burundi's 11 million people lack access to electricity. Gigawatt Global is honoured to play a role in advancing economic and social development through green power in the country," says Josef Abramowitz, CEO of Gigawatt Global. "By expanding our investments from commercial scale projects to include off-grid installations, we are positively impacting the lives of millions of people in Burundi and throughout Africa, and are becoming a leading force in green energy projects across the continent."

The 'light islands' project in Bujumbura is produced by a team that includes local members Patrick NZINTUNGA, Gigawatt Global Regional Coordinator, and Deo HUGERE., Gigawatt Global Engineer. The engineering, procurement, and construction components of this project are being carried out by Asantys System. The pilot program is supported by the Energy & Environmental Partnership (EEP), an initiative of the governments of the United Kingdom, Austria and Finland, and with an impact investment from entrepreneur Alex Goldberg.

"God bless the people of Burundi," says Goldberg. "In Bujumbura, we found a place ripe for innovation and open to economic development."

As part of Gigawatt Global's commitment to additional Corporate Social Responsibility, one of its investors, Mark Gelfand, funded and built the STEM Centre (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) at the Université Polytechnique de Gitega.

Proposed Partnership of Local Developer and Church Would Benefit West Palm Beach

Related Companies Flagler Project

Related Companies Flagler Project

A visionary idea between the Related Companies and the First Church of Christ, Scientist would create jobs, preserve history and shape the future of the city.

West Palm Beach is really positioning itself for smart growth, maintaining quality of life, and job growth”

— Chris Roog, Director of Economic Development, City of West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, U.S., July 16, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Related Companies has a development plan that would create Class-A office space to be known as One Flagler, preserve the historic First Church of Christ, Scientist, and protect and maintain the West Palm Beach waterfront with 1.25 acres of public greenspace.

The city needs additional Class-A office space, and the construction of One Flagler would result in a reported 700 construction jobs and 1,000 high-paying jobs as financial firms, family offices and hedge funds, among other businesses, take up residence in the tall, slender, tiered structure of 25 stories with a total of 274,000-square-feet that would anchor the city’s growing Financial District and proposed Okeechobee Business District.

“There’s a supply problem in the Class-A office market,” said Mark Pateman, managing principal at Cushman & Wakefield’s Palm Beach County office. “There hasn’t been any new office construction since 2008.”

At the ULI Southeast Florida’s West Palm Beach Development and Investment Forum on March 10, 2017 local officials and real estate development experts outlined the city’s plan for attracting new companies to the area. Related’s Senior Vice President Gopal Rajegowda, the City of West Palm Beach’s Director of Economic Development Chris Roog and President and CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County Kelly Smallridge presented a session on “Fostering Economic Prosperity and the Flagler Financial District.

The repurposing of historic buildings and non-traditional spaces for office buildings are attractive to companies looking for unique office environments.

“We build and lease office buildings all around the world, and have spoken to close to 20 qualified potential tenants who have been looking for this type of space in the Palm Beach market for a long time,” Gopal has stated. “The Palm Beach County Business Development Board, and the top-tier commercial brokers in this market have been telling us the exact same thing we’re hearing directly from CEOs in the Northeast.”

“When we look at the trend of who’s moving into Palm Beach County, we realize there are CEOs and company executive who own homes here and yet they don’t have business locations here, said Smallridge. “I can tell you that there has been a lot of lost opportunities in the city of West Palm Beach because of a lack of office space.”

The First Church of Christ, Scientist, one of the most architecturally significant buildings in Palm Beach County, is at-risk of demolition, as it is not currently landmarked. Numerous development proposals have been presented over more than a decade, all of which covered the entire site with a new building. Under the Related proposal, the house of worship, designed by Julian Abele, a prominent African-American architect whose notable works include the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Widener Memorial Library at Harvard University, and the Duke University Quad and Chapel, would be preserved forever through an endowment fund.

One Flagler would provide space for companies wanting to move to West Palm Beach, and preserve the church for its original intent and use.

At a community reception on June 8, 2017, nearly 100 community leaders gathered together at the church and learned about the endowment plan in detail from Harvey E. Oyer III, a historian and partner in the West Palm Beach office of Shutts & Bowen.

“Landmarking the church, preserving greenspace, and maintaining its original concept is important for the church and the West Palm Beach community at-large,” he said. “Related’s creation of an endowment ensures the historic preservation of the building, regardless of what happens to the congregation or office building, provides reassurance to the public and sets a new standard for historic preservation that may be followed in the future.”

David Childs, the architect behind the plans for One Flagler, which would stand at Chase Street and Lakeview Avenue, behind the First Church of Christ, Scientist, designed Manhattan’s One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower) and 7 World Trade Center. He has vowed to preserve the church building, constructed in 1928. His plans include an axial reflecting pool along Lakeview Avenue that would mimic the First Church of Christ, Scientist’s mother church in Boston, MA. Childs previously led the National Capital Planning Commission, which reviews projects that affect Washington, D.C. and its many historic and cultural assets.

“We took great care to select the most uniquely qualified architect in the nation to design this building, helping us create a magnificent architectural structure for West Palm Beach,“ said Related Urban President and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth A. Himmel. “He thoroughly understands how to build proximate to historical buildings and celebrate the site’s history heritage in ways that create 21st century vitality and enrich the value and experience of every aspect of this high-profile site.”

Tenants in the building would be offered unparalleled views of the Intracoastal Waterway, Palm Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, along with access to a high-definition webcam that would provide instant traffic information and views to tenants and accessible by all West Palm Beach residents.

Related has proposed numerous strategies to ease traffic, including adding computer software to more efficiently sync traffic signals, staggering work hours, utilizing the Tent Site property on Okeechobee Boulevard for an additional turning lane on to Quadrille Boulevard, and getting the Coast Guard to stop Intracoastal drawbridge openings during peak traffic hours.

“I believe Related has proposed a series of good solutions to the traffic concerns, as well as taken every precaution necessary to preserve the views of the surrounding buildings,” said Downtown Development Authority Chairwoman Upendo Shabazz.

It is estimated that tax revenues from the project could be used by West Palm Beach to reduce taxes, fund neighborhood projects, and improve public safety services.

“West Palm Beach is really positioning itself for smart growth, maintaining quality of life, and job growth, said Roog.

Related Companies is the single largest investor along the Okeechobee Corridor. The developer has opened CityPlace, CityPlace Tower, and the Hilton West Palm Beach. One Flagler would join Phillips Point, Esperante and CityPlace Tower as the fourth Class-A office building in the downtown area.

Anoop Chandola's YA novel "MYTH AND PUNISHMENT" to be released by Black Opal Books

KENT, WA, UNITED STATES, July 15, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — July 15, 2017: Black Opal Books announces release of Anoop Chandola’s YA novel, “Myth and Punishment.”
Twelve-year-old, US born, East Indian Adina is searching for a lost family jewel. Her nani, maternal grandmother, claims to have offered the jewel to one of the Hindu gods in return for a grandchild, resulting in Adina’s birth. The family jewels are an Indian girl’s birthright, and should have come to Adina, but her mother secretly sold off the jewels, in defiance of Hindu tradition, after she divorced Adina’s father when Adina was two. So the lost “crown” jewel is the only one left…if Adina can only find it. Her quest for this piece of jewelry takes her on a virtual trip through Hindu cosmology and mythology and Indian history. She uses her laptop to find images of a given god, goddess, or historical figure then mediates on that image while remembering all she knows about the being, thanks to her paternal grandparents’ tutelage in her Indian heritage. Adina’s meditations are extraordinary, however, in that the figure comes alive, and she can interact with that being—sometimes at her own peril…
Anoop Chandola, an American linguist-anthropologist, was raised in a Himalayan priestly Brahmin family in India. Dr. Chandola, a graduate of the Universities of California-Berkeley and Chicago, has taught Indian literature, culture, and religion at S.V. Patel University, M. S. Dajon Data Management Helps Decision Time Ministries Support Those in Need.

Decision Time Ministries collecting the van.

The moment Decision Time Ministries collected the van.

Volunteers at Decision Time Ministries

Volunteers at Decision Time Ministries

London-based charity Decision Time Ministries is continuing to help people in need thanks to a vehicle donation from Dajon Data Management.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, July 14, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — The charity, founded by Phil Cartlidge, works with people the benefits system are unable to reach, in particular the homeless, those suffering from addiction or sex workers. Phil and his charity travel to various parts of the UK providing food, hot drinks and support to those in the greatest need.

The donation of the van from Dajon, a document scanning and robotic process automation company based in the capital, means his charity will be able to get out and help even more people. In the past, the charity has provided items such as suits for job interviews with the aim of helping someone finally get off the streets and into work.

Phil has said of his decision to start the charity: “I started this organisation to help the needy, the homeless and fill the gap where the government has failed to do so between the homeless and the benefits system.”

Although the charity has a current van, the one donated by Dajon – which was handed over following a social media appeal on the LinkedIn networking site, will help to spread the work of the charity further, enabling them to reach even more people.

Damien Andrews, Managing Director of Dajon Data Management http://www.dajon.co.uk, said: “The timing was perfect as we were in the process of upgrading our fleet of vehicles. Rather than selling the van we decided to donate it to Decision Time Ministries as it is such a worthwhile cause.”

Donations can be made to Decision Time Ministries at: http://www.decisiontimeministries.co.uk/donate/
People can also donate good such as toiletries, clothes, sleeping bags etc, by phoning Phil on 07415 109951.

BURBANK, CA, USA, July 13, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — BURBANK, California — The 168 Film Festival announced today that on Saturday, August 26th, it will screen the victory-over-human-trafficking feature film, Unbridled, starring T.C. Stallings (War Room; Courageous), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight; The Pope of Greenwich Village) and Tea McKay, (Pass the Light, The Iceman). Tickets are available at www.168Film.com.

Unbridled (www.UnbridledMovie.com) is based on true stories of at risk, teen girls assisted by equine therapy at a North Carolina non-profit ranch called Corral Riding Academy. The film shot in Raleigh NC, which is situated along the infamous I-95 corridor, a gateway to traffickers. Sex Trafficking is estimated to involve hundreds of thousands of victims in all 50 states, including many children. It may be the fastest growing criminal industry at $9 billion dollars per year.

According to the film’s director, John David Ware, “This issue must be addressed on multiple fronts. Unbridled focuses on redemption and healing. It shows a great victory in this battle. At it’s heart, Unbridled is a girl-and-her-horse-film with a girl that powerfully overcomes great difficulties.”

In the film, Sarah (Tea McKay) escapes from her mother’s (Dey Young – Pretty Woman) maniacal boyfriend, Roger (Eric Roberts). As Sarah begins to heal at the Academy, she learns to trust humans again by bonding with Dreamer, a badly abused horse that no one can touch. Roger will stop at nothing to get her back under his control.

Unbridled is appropriate for children aged 12 and above. A discussion with director John David Ware and actor T.C. Stallings will occur immediately after the screening.

The film also stars Jenn Gotzon (Frost/Nixon), David Topp (Beverly Hills Canine Country Club) and Rachel Hendrix (October Baby).

The 15-years-runnning 168 Film Festival is known as a vehicle for filmmakers and actors to launch careers. Lead actress Tea McKay was cast based on her excellent work in the 168 Film Project.

In 2018, 168 Film will produce a feature film with the top short film producer of 2017. 168 has birthed over 1,000 short films in 14 years.

168 Film Festival sponsors include Advent Media, Roush Media, Tiffin/Steadicam and Arri.
