Scourby Bible App No. 1

Alexander Scourby No 1 Bible Narrator. Quote from article: Scourby was meticulous in his research and preparation. While most narrators try to “act”, raising and lowering their voices Scourby simply changed the rhythm slightly. He was one of a kind with an X quality.

Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this Prophecy, and keep the things which are written therein, for the time is at hand"”

— Revelations 3:1

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, March 29, 2018 / — The King James Bible was first published in 1611. At that time, the Gutenberg Press was a new technological way to print Books. The first "Book" printed was a Latin Bible, that printing represented a new "Bible-Gateway". Fast forward 400 plus years to 2007, another new "Bible-Gateway" appeared on the market, the first smartphone introduced by Steve Jobs called the iPhone.
Application software for the iPhone was created in 2008 and simply called an “App”, short for “application”. I remember getting my first Bible App, narrated by Alexander Scourby, on my new iPhone. Scourby was the first person ever to record a KJV audio Bible for long-play records in the 1950’s. The Scourby Bible App was the first Bible App to run on the new iPhone Bible-Gateway. It was a simple App with text and audio, but users had to manually scroll the text to keep up with the audio. This new "Bible-Gateway" was the beginning of the "reading and hearing" of the Word of God by the masses.

Fast forward to 2017, Pope Francis made a comparison between Bible reading and cell phone reading when he said the following in St. Peters square: “Christians should care about reading God’s messages in the Bible as much as they care about checking their cellphone messages.” The Pope asked, “What would happen if we turn around to get our Bible like we turn around when we forget our cellphones.” “If we read our Bible verses like we read our cellphone messages?” The answer? Probably "change the World." (Click to Read Popes Full Statement)

Today there are numerous Bible Apps in the marketplace. However, the best one’s auto scrolls the text and audio that are synced together. A "Bi-Modal" presentation, with text and audio synced together, is a powerful way for Bible Study. In using two sensory inputs in the brain, one for reading and one for hearing, studies have shown that comprehension, understanding and retention are all dramatically increase…"Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this Prophecy, and keep the things which are written therein, for the time is at hand"…(Revelations 3:1) The important three words in the above verse are "reading, hearing and keeping". Today, there are tens of millions of Christians who are now hearing and reading the Word using a Bible App. There is no doubt, for most Christians in 2018, a Bible app on their smart phone is a must, and they won't leave home without one.

Bible Gateway's News observation was that the Pope’s message was profound. The Pope recognized that everyone carries cell-phones and what if they used the Bible as much as they used their cellphones. Millions have Bible Apps on their cellphones and Bible Gate News wanted to know what Bible App is the Best in 2018? According to Bible Gateway News, they decided to research that question. Having a very extensive Christian Data Base, they identified 1000 random Bible App users around the country. They polled them and asked the following questions:

1. What do you think are the most important components in a Bible App are? Top Answers, the quality of the narration, quality of the Bible App Features, text and audio being synced together, and the audio self contained on the device and not streamed from the cloud.

2. Question: What Bible Version is your their favorite? Answer: The King James Version came in first at 57%, NIV came in at 18% and the other 100 plus English Bible versions were split among between the other 25%.

3. Question: What Bible App do you think is the best? Answer: 74% said the Scourby You Bible App. Out of that percentage 52% said they had 2 or more Bible apps on their mobile devices. (Click to Read Bible Gateway News article) Users were asked some follow up questions:

5. Question: What App features do you like best on the Scourby Bible App? Answer: The ability to create custom playlist that play back the text and audio synced together, and being able to share Bible Verses along with a personal note.

Their polling revealed that it was crystal clear that the main driver for users polled, was the superior narration of the King James Bible by Alexander Scourby.

Bible Gateway News referred to an article by the Chicago Tribune written in 1990, that stated, “Alexander Scourby has the Greatest voice ever recorded and is the best Audio book narrator, bar none.” Their poll definitely confirmed and validated the Chicago Tribune opinion. They also stated that Theology Degrees also ranked the Scourby Bible App No. 1 in 2017, and in 2018 The 700 Club News similarly ranked the Scourby You Bible App No. 1.

Bible Gate News concluded that whatever Bible App users prefer as their new "Bible-Gateway," like the Pope, they encouraged all to download a Bible App to their mobile-device and use it daily. They also encouraged all to read, hear and keep Bible messages in their heart and mind. We believe a Good App home Screen shot would be this Bible Verse, "This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12.
