UGANDA, AFRICA, June 29, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Leaders from the Southern California-based nonprofit Wells of Life made a historic trip to Uganda earlier this spring resulting in an official partnership between Wells of Life and the Ugandan government.

A meeting with The Honorable Charles Peter Mayiga, Prime Minister (Katikiro) of the Buganda Kingdom, solidified an ongoing arrangement with Wells of Life to provide water wells for villagers in the Kingdom of Buganda, the largest traditional kingdom in present day Uganda.

During the trip, Wells of Life advisory board member and businessman Rand Sperry arranged for a surprise wedding engagement gift for his daughter, model Keleigh Sperry to actor Miles Teller (Fantastic Four, War Dogs, Bleed for This). Over 400 children and parents gathered at a primary school to celebrate the presentation of the well by performing a play and a special song written for Keleigh.

Other developments from the trip included the Prime Minister’s acceptance as an advisory board member of the Wells of Life board of directors. Upon the appointment he said, “We welcome the timely intervention to combat many health challenges in Uganda resulting from a shortage of clean water.”

To date, Wells of Life has funded and drilled 376 water wells. The focus for the last two years was in the Mubende and Mitiyana districts of Uganda. Each well provides clean water to 1000 villagers for up to 25 years and organizers aim to fund 1,000 water wells over a ten year period.

Wells of Life founder and executive director Nick Jordan and Keleigh Sperry gave emotional testimonies during the meeting with the Prime Minister while Sperry also agreed to become a Wells of Life Ambassador.

Wells of Life is based on the premise that water is a basic human right and clean water saves lives. Water wells also relieve the tremendous daily burden on women and girls to collect water.

The meeting also solidified the purchase of land for a Wells of Life Training and Visitor Center. Coordinated by Wells of Life Advisory Board Member Fr. Max Ssekiwala, as non-residents cannot purchase land in Uganda, the arrangement includes a 99-year lease with Wells of Life deemed beneficiary of the two-acre site.

Helping Those Less Fortunate

Robert Tweleit is an officer of the law. Therefore, he has seen his fair share of misfortune throughout his job. He knows what happens when people are desperate; when they feel alone in the world.

Fortunately, through volunteering at Tweleit’s Catholic church, he has also learned what a difference a helping hand can make. Officer Tweleit has seen, with his own eyes, how something as simple as showing kindness can discourage criminal behavior.

However, Tweleit doesn’t do it for that. He has also seen many people throughout his volunteerism that are God-fearing, good people. He has helped plenty of people that he knows would never lose faith in God or His children. Regardless of their struggles, he has witnessed strength and faith that is truly awe-inspiring.


Tweleit knows that he is blessed. He loves his job as a police officer and with that job, he can provide for his family. His job also gives him the financial freedom to help others, by giving his time and money to those in need.

In addition to physically volunteering, Tweleit does everything he can to help those in need by giving tithes to the Catholic Church.

Whether the funds go to help a foreign country in need, or they remain in the parish is irrelevant. To Tweleit, the only thing he cares about is that his tithes are going to people in need.

Spreading God’s Word through Actions

Being in law enforcement, Officer Tweleit knows that actions speak louder than words.
Preaching to people about God and His works don’t always get the message across. Most of the time, leading by example is the only way to truly serve the Lord.

Tweleit knows this from experience. Thus, he volunteers with the Catholic church to better serve God. He understands that his actions are held in much higher regard than promises. He is content in knowing he is making a difference. Instead of just telling people who great his life is, by volunteering, he is showing them.

Plus, he is giving people hope of working towards a life that they can be proud of. Tweleit is actively showing people that it doesn’t matter who they are, or what they’ve done. They are still worth more than they could ever know in God’s eyes.

In summation, Robert Tweleit is proud of all he has accomplished through his volunteerism. At work, he punishes people who break the law. Yet, through the Catholic church, he knows he is making a difference in people’s lives.

When he is volunteering, he isn’t a police officer. He is simply a human being, doing what he can to better the lives of his fellow-man.

Teleios Research Surveys Young Christians About Sharing the Gospel

GOOSE CREEK, SOUTH CAROLINA, USA, June 26, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Teleios Research surveyed the frequency and methods used of generally younger Christians in sharing the gospel. The survey was promoted on Christian Instagram accounts frequented by adolescents and millennials. Of the 239 respondents the majority were: female (65%), <35 years old (70%), from the United States (56%), and evangelical (81%). In total, 82% thought the Bible was inerrant.

This survey showed both positive and negative results. On the positive side, most participants noted they verbalize the gospel message to an unbeliever a few times per year to a few times per month (69%) and an additional strong minority as frequently as a few times a week to every day (16%).

On average, participants indicated they did not fear verbalizing the gospel to unbelievers (64%). For those who mentioned they were afraid, the most common reasons were: they did not know what to say (66%); they might be offensive (36%); or be rejected socially (30%). Apart from fear, others indicated they rarely shared they because they could not answer objections (46%) or explain the gospel (38%).

On the negative side, about two-thirds felt guilty they did not share the gospel enough (76%) and most thought they should share more frequently (93%). Further, 20% confessed they might exaggerate how often they shared the gospel to others.

Participants noted their best way to share the gospel was by lifestyle example (29%). In contrast, specifically communicating the message of salvation was chosen by 10% (6th ranked choice overall). Participants further indicated they normally share the gospel by: (> 50% for each choice) lifestyle as well as encouraging, praying for, and loving others. Speaking the plan of salvation was ranked sixth most frequent (27%) just behind social media posts (ranked fifth at 35%).

This survey suggests that young evangelicals realize they need to share the gospel and they perceive they frequently communicate it to others. However, the manner in which they tell others the gospel rarely involves verbalizing the plan of salvation, but includes more messaging through lifestyle and encouragement.

This survey provides guidance to local churches and youth leaders as they develop their teaching plans to train young Christians specifically in the content of an efficient gospel message, how to answer objections and questions, as well as build a vision in bringing people to Christ.
