Generous Donation Enables Wartburg's Historic Chapel Upgrades Including Hearing Assistance and Telecast

MT. VERNON, NEW YORK, USA, July 27, 2018 / — Generous Donation Enables Wartburg’s Historic Chapel Upgrades Including Hearing Assistance and Telecast in Residential Facilities

Mount Vernon, NY (July 20, 2018) Wartburg, a premier senior residential and healthcare provider in lower Westchester, has recently completed upgrades to its historic chapel on its beautiful, 34-acre campus.

Wartburg’s Chapel, built in 1904, hosts ecumenical services for its residents as well as Sunday Services for United Lutheran Church. The Chapel is also the destination of worship to over 500 seniors, many of whom have hearing impairments. As a result of the upgrades, the Chapel now uses a Hearing Aid Induction Loop which allows those with hearing aids to directly pick up audio from the sound system. Headsets are also available for those individuals who do not use hearing aids and may need amplified sound.

In addition to the Hearing Aid Induction Loop, those with mobility issues in the nursing home and Rehabilitation Center are now able to view services in the comfort of their rooms through Senior TV, offered in both locations. To improve the overall sound quality in the chapel, a high definition camcorder and an audio Digital Signal Processor (DSP) was also installed. The DSP connects to the existing sound system in the Chapel to provide a much more consistent level sound input to the camera. As a result, Wartburg is now able to broadcast events, such as concerts, in the Chapel to the nursing home, Rehabilitation Center and Adult Day Services with high definition video and sound.

Pastor Carol Fryer, Senior Pastor of United Lutheran Church, Director of Wartburg Spiritual Care, said: “We are so grateful to have the ability to broadcast our Sunday services so that our residents may watch the service when they are not able to physically attend due to illness or bad weather. Plus the Hearing Loop is fabulous for anyone with hearing loss. The gifts that made this possible have added significantly to the Spiritual Care of our residents.”

These upgrades were generously funded though the benevolence of Wartburg supporters. “We are so very grateful to our donors who have made these technology upgrades possible and will enable more of our residents to benefit from worship services in our historic chapel,” said David Gentner, Wartburg President & CEO.

Meadowview Resident Ethel Clausen (pictured), said: “With the T-coil setting in my hearing aids, I can hear every word. Before I lost so much that I couldn’t get the meaning of things. It has made a world of difference! I’m so pleased that we got the T-coil.”

Wartburg’s 6th Annual Jazz in June Gala
Raises over $290,000
Featuring Blind, Award Winning, Creative Aging Artist, Rachel Gonzalez

Mount Vernon, N.Y. (July 7, 2018) – Wartburg, an award-winning provider of comprehensive senior residential and healthcare services, hosted their 6th annual Jazz in June – A Wartburg Celebration of Arts and Music gala on June 20, 2018 raising over $290,000 to support Wartburg’s internationally recognized, award-winning Creative Aging & Lifelong Learning program at Wartburg. The event was held at the Surf Club on the Sound in New Rochelle, NY, with nearly 330 guests and over 55 sponsors. This year’s event included a moving story of triumph over adversity as blind Adult Day Care registrant, Rachel Gonzalez, described her experience in the Creative Aging program at Wartburg.

Diagnosed with Acute Uveitis at the age of 23, Rachel Gonzalez began losing her sight until, by the age of 32, she was legally blind. When Rachel joined the Wartburg family a few years ago, she found great joy in her weekly art class through the Creative Aging program. She light-heartedly shared with the audience at Jazz in June, “No one said, ‘Hey, blind lady, what are you doing in an art class?’” Rachel beamed with pride as she shared the painting that earned her a LeadingAge New York Art Competition award. Rachel’s testimony highlighted the evening that supported the importance of the arts and aging at Wartburg.

Wartburg Jazz in June honorees were humbled by the impact of the Creative Aging program and took pride in supporting and partnering with an agency dedicated to nurturing the body, mind and spirit. Warburg honored:

Christina Staudt, PhD, President and Co-Founder, Westchester End-of-Life Coalition (WELC), NorthEast Community Bank, Anthony Alfano, Vice President and Executive Director, Montefiore New Rochelle, Macedonia Baptist Church and Biodex Medical Systems, Inc.

In addition to honoring Dr. Staudt, Dr. David J. Gentner, Wartburg President and CEO announced a new partnership that would allow Wartburg to act as the new home for WELC. Staudt said, “I am excited that WELC has found such a splendid home for our programs.”

Wartburg’s Jazz in June has become a hallmark event for lower Westchester. I extend my deepest gratitude to this year’s honorees, the event sponsors, and the many dedicated volunteers who helped create a spectacular evening,” said Dr. Gentner.

The night’s festivities also included the presentation of the 2018 Innovation of the Year Award by LeadingAge New York President, James Clyne for SeniorU. SeniorU combines the educational excellence of Concordia College with Wartburg’s expertise in senior engagement, allowing retirees the opportunity to earn a two- or four-year college degree.

Mike Bennett, Co-Host of “Mike and Casey in the Morning” on 100.7 WHUD was the Master of Ceremonies at this year’s gala. Major sponsors for Jazz in June 2018 included Montefiore New Rochelle, Biodex, Morrison Community Living, Patient Care Associates, Inc., New York-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital, PharmScript LLC, and Westchester Ambulette Services Inc.

“We are so thankful for our generous supporters without whom we could not offer innovative arts-based therapy to all those entrusted to our care,” said Angela Ciminello, Wartburg Vice President of Development and Marketing.

Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed participating in the gala’s fundraising through raffles and live auctions. Tim Decker, speed painter extraordinaire, provided entertainment by painting three large canvases of famous icons in less than 15 minutes! The funds raised at this year’s gala supports Wartburg’s therapeutic art program, Creative Aging & Lifelong Learning. Creative Aging offers innovative programming that provides residents, Adult Day Services clients and rehabilitation patients with opportunities to remain challenged and engaged in their later years. Wartburg’s Creative Aging program is a natural fit for Wartburg’s mission to nurture mind, body and spirit and to help those entrusted in their care to live life to its fullest.

Dr. Debra Ford of The SolePath Institute to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, July 27, 2018 / — Dr. Debra is the creator of SolePath. She is a Doctor of metaphysical science, ordained Minister, educator, counselor and one of the founders of The SolePath Institute. She is the author of fourteen books including “SolePath: The Path to Purpose and a Beautiful Life.”

“Most people seek me out because they are feeling lost and overwhelmed, searching for purpose in their lives,” says Dr. Debra. “At the SolePath Institute we take you on an enlightened journey of self- awareness and a deeply profound study of yourself so that you can look at the world optimistically and with self-assuredness.”

Through her own personal struggles and tragedies such as suffering sexual abuse as a child, divorce, and a near- death experience, Dr. Debra ultimately found her calling from her innate desire to be of service to others. “SolePath was born out of my yearning to help people answer the fundamental questions of life,” says Dr. Debra. “When you know your SolePath you discover who you are born to be and what you can give back to the world. Life becomes easier, less stressful, uplifting and more reassuring.”

Dr. Debra says “At the SolePath Institute we are in the business of happiness. And we have learned that the start of finding happiness is always a deeper level of self-awareness. A deep knowing of what expands you and what collapses you, of what makes you feel dark and what makes you feel light and bright. That’s where SolePath can help.”

SolePath is your soul ID. At the SolePath Institute we measure your energetics and give you your best lifehack ever – your SolePath. And when you know your SolePath, you understand how to navigate your life, you can be who you dreamed you’d be, and you can be who the world needs you to be.

Your SolePath is a braid of two LightPaths and one DarkPath. Your LightPaths are expanding energy and there are three words that define them. The first word is ‘gifts’, those things that you give to the world; the second is ‘greatness’, your personal talents your deep self worth; the third is ‘purpose’ which is your guide to that thing that you were born to do with your life. All of the clues to your gifts, greatness and purpose sit in your LightPaths.

Your DarkPath is collapsed energy and is your place of personal growth. How do you know when you are in your DarkPath? It’s very easy to recognize – it’s whenever you are experiencing negative feelings, whenever you are in a negative thought spiral, or you are having negative outcomes and experiences in your life. All of the things that you don’t want in your life – that’s your DarkPath.

SolePath is always only about you, about you as an individual finding your way and walking your path to purpose and a beautiful life. SolePath helps you find your role so that you can make a difference because as Plato said – there is a place that you are to fill and no one else can fill; and there is something that you are to do which no one else can do.

Your personal, unique SolePath is who you are born to be. It’s your guide to a life filled with happiness, peace, joy, love, purpose, health and meaning. And when you know your SolePath you can navigate those pitfalls and those things that trip you up in your life and make you unhappy, and connect to your unique, personal, individual gifts and greatness.

Our vision at the SolePath Institute is for everyone to know their SolePath, to understand themselves better and find their role in the world. Although knowing your SolePath is priceless, it costs only what you feel able to give.

How do you discover your SolePath? Go online to to make your donation, upload a recent headshot selfie and fill out a short form. Once we receive your request for a SolePath analysis, we connect to the field and measure your energetics to reveal your SolePath, your braid of two LightPaths and one DarkPath. Your LightPaths are expanding energy and provide direction for knowing your life’s purpose. Your DarkPath is collapsed energy and provides the contrast for personal growth.

“Life is supposed to be happy,” says Dr. Debra. “People should be mindful that joy is found within us not outside of us. When you know yourself at such a deep level through your SolePath, you can find happiness. I just know that we can be more joyful and content and it all starts with the journey into self-awareness.”

CUTV news will feature Dr. Debra Ford in an interview with Jim Masters on Tuesday July 31st at 11 a.m. EDT.

New Jersey Corporate Whistleblower Center Now Urges a Nursing Home Manager in New Jersey to Call About Rewards If Their Facility Is Understaffed But billing Medicare As If They Are Fully Staffed

If a MD or healthcare worker in New Jersey knows of a multi-million-dollar scheme to overbill Medicare please call us anytime at 866-714-6466 ”

— New Jersey Corporate Whistleblower Center

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, July 26, 2018 / — According to the New Jersey Corporate Whistleblower Center, "We are urging a staff member or manager at a nursing home anywhere in the New Jersey to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 if Medicare is being overbilled for insufficient staff to care for the patients. This practice is called short-staffing and it happens in nursing homes in New Jersey and nationwide. Frequently nursing homes involved in short staffing also bill Medicare for medical procedures that never took place. If you have proof your employer-nursing home in New Jersey is significantly involved in these types of practices-there can significant rewards for this type of information as we would like to discuss anytime." http://NewJersey.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

On November 16th, 2017 the Department of Justice announced a $1,250,000 settlement from the operator of a nursing home in Mississippi based nursing home for providing effectively worthless services to residents. While the whistleblower reward has not yet been announced it is expected to be at least $150,000.

The New Jersey Corporate Whistleblower Center would like to hear from the following types of healthcare whistleblowers in New Jersey if they possess proof of the following:

* A short-staffed nursing home in New Jersey is billing Medicare as if they are fully staffed.

* A hospice provider in New Jersey is billing Medicare for end of life medical treatment for people who are not dying.

* Drug company representatives in New Jersey are bribing medical doctors with the intent—the physician will over prescribe pharmaceutical products.

* A Hospital in New Jersey is admitting Medicare patients through their ER for expensive medical testing that should have never happened.

* A blood testing company or imaging center in New Jersey is bribing physicians for unwarranted expensive medical tests.

According to the New Jersey Corporate Whistleblower Center, "We want a potential whistleblower who calls us to understand their information could result in a significant whistleblower reward-provided it is well documented, and the wrongdoing is easy to prove. If a MD or healthcare worker in New Jersey knows of a multi-million-dollar scheme to overbill Medicare please call us anytime at 866-714-6466 about what the reward potential could be for their information. Please don't sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever know what it might have been worth." http://NewJersey.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

Simple rules for a whistleblower from the New Jersey Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you are a potential whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing. The New Jersey Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It’s a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower’s information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company/employer or individual to come clean about significant Medicare fraud, overbilling the federal government for services never rendered, multi-million-dollar state or federal tax evasion, or a New Jersey based company falsely claiming to be a minority owned business to get preferential treatment on federal or state projects. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it’s sufficient, we will help you with a focus on you getting rewarded.”

Unlike any group in the United States the Corporate Whistleblower Center can assist a potential whistleblower with packaging or building out their information to potentially increase the reward potential. They will also provide the whistleblower with access to some of the most skilled whistleblower attorneys in the nation. For more information a possible whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing in New Jersey can contact the Whistleblower Center anytime at 866-714-6466 or contact them via their website at http://NewJersey.CorporateWhistleBlower.Com

Poet and Songwriter Anthony Coppolella to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

ROSETO, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES, July 24, 2018 / — Anthony Coppolella is an accomplished poet and songwriter who has received praise from former President Clinton, was named among the Outstanding Poets of 1994 and was honored for lifetime achievement by Who’s Who–and there’s a good reason. He writes stunning poems, creates carefully rhymed and metered lyrics, and tells a great story every time. He also strings words into little pearls of wisdom, like Stay in your lane in the road of life and If you want to do something, just go do it, without fear.

To date, Anthony has written over 30 songs, 15 of which were contracted by the Hilltop Records and Rainbow Records labels, each based in Hollywood CA. Anthony, or Tony as he likes to be called, is the lyricist, and the record companies provided the musical scoring, accompaniment and vocalists (one sounds a bit like Roy Orbison, especially when he sings Tony’s lyrics about a pretty woman and man who cross paths and look each other up and down.)

Tony’s lyrics are sweet and genuine, and each song tells a story, mostly with happy endings. Otherwise, it has a message. Anthony loves to share moral advice, such as when he cooks, and says if you have all the colors that God gave us on a plate, then you have a great meal.

Tony has a strong belief in God and a couple of his songs are spiritual in nature. A Candle in His Light is one of Tony’s favorites, and sure qualifies as a gospel tune. Hallelujah, salvation and heavenly plans are often part of Tony’s lyrics. It was likely God talking through Tony, when he suddenly got an urge to write, and verses began pouring out of him back in 1992.

He went ahead in that direction, attending workshops in Washington DC, learning to use meter and polarity, and how to refine his work. He also joined organizations like The National Library of Poetry, the International Society of Poets, and the National Writer’s Association. Some of these organizations selected Tony’s poems to appear in their journals. The summits also led to notice of his poem about world peace (for which he got that thank you letter from the President) and to the creation of one about the Statue of Liberty …a gift made of precious metal to help the tired and poor settle. Tony hopes to see that on a plaque at Ellis Island one day.

Tony’s songs are frequently love songs, and love is important to him, especially when it comes to loving what you do. He so loves his writing career and looks forward to publishing a full-length book soon. He also loves his family with its numerous children and grandchildren, which include quite a few named Anthony. Tony also still works at his long-time career love; he’s a Quality Control specialist and ensures orders go out correctly. Tony likens that to being the Safety on a football team—if he can stop them from scoring a touchdown, he wins!

Be sure to tune into the show to hear all Tony’s heartwarming words including advice, poems and songs. He may read a short piece, like Cloudy Days or play some of the tunes from the Top Hits CD that Hilltop Records made for him. Radio listeners will surely smile, hum along, and get those wonderful words stuck in their head.

CUTV News will feature poet and songwriter Anthony Cappollelo in an interview with Doug Llewelyn on Thursday, July 26 at 2:00 pm EDT

Gettysburg National Military Park Announces Texas Painter as August Artist in Residence

I am trying to hit at something of the sublime which is the mixture of nature's great beauty but also its’ danger and encompassing presence when you’re in it.”

— Dawn Waters Baker, NPAF Artist in Residence

GETTYSBURG, PENNSYLVANIAL, US, July 20, 2018 / — GETTYSBURG, PA — The Gettysburg National Military Park, in cooperation with the non-profit National Parks Arts Foundation (NPAF) and the Gettysburg Foundation announced today that Dawn Waters Baker, a painter from Dallas, TX, will be the park’s August 2018 resident, and will present her work to the public as well.

For the most part, Dawn paints her landscapes in oils, painstakingly building up layers, but not merely for decorative or beautiful effects, but more as a window into more intangible things. She sees the landscapes that make up the largest portion of her work not merely as useful “subjects” but as a passage into something greater than the human perspective. Explains Waters Baker: “I am trying to hit at something of the sublime which is the mixture of nature's great beauty but also its’ danger and encompassing presence when you’re in it.” And speaking of Gettysburg’s fields and Memorials: “They show us how personal it is to our American story. And at Gettysburg we have the rare chance to enter the memory and emotion of that story.”

Dawn Waters Baker was born and raised in the Philippines as an expatriate, and only came to the United States when she was 18. This formative experience of witnessing poverty and grace has given her, in her artist’s path, a determined and searching viewpoint that does not take things for granted. Though represented at galleries in Dallas, New York, Scottsdale, and Tulsa, she takes pride in her volunteer work at ALERT, a non-profit where she coaches at-risk and trafficked girls to use art to express themselves. As well as working on new work while she is at the park, Dawn is looking forward to making a presentation or leading some painting workshops for the public during her time at the park.

Dawn will use the August 2018 residency to create artwork inspired by the open fields and woods of the Military Park. She shares with many artists of the past, like William Turner and Paul Cézanne her insight into the active ever-present mystery of nature. Comments Waters Baker, “I am interested in asking the questions of how a landscape holds the memory and emotion of war. How do the very trees, hills, fields and woods help evoke that memory and feeling? How does beauty go hand in hand with something so horrible as a Civil War? There is an awe and respect that comes with being in a place that is so deeply beautiful. I want the opportunity to be "schooled" by such a place,” and she adds, by way of summation: “…what I can bring to the park is a listening to the space.”

“Gettysburg National Military Park has offered inspiration to artists for more than 150 years,” said Christopher Gwinn, Chief of Interpretation at Gettysburg National Military Park. “The Artist-in-Residence program engages new audiences and tells Gettysburg’s stories in new and compelling ways.”

The painter will be presenting her work informally to the public during at least one public presentation, set for August 10th at 10 am at the Museum and Visitors Center, and possibly will be hosting a painting workshop at the park. Dawn Waters Baker, a gifted and perceptive landscape artist is very much on the lookout for the mysterious qualities in the landscape that may present themselves to her at America’s battlefield Park.

The Gettysburg battlefield has a long artistic tradition that includes sketches by Alfred Waud during the fighting in 1863, the iconic photography of Alexander Gardner in the immediate aftermath of battle, over a thousand memorial sculptural treasures, and commemorative works by Gutzon Borglum and many others.
NPAF is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the promotion of the National Parks of the U.S. through creating dynamic opportunities for artworks that are based in our natural and historic heritage. This project is supported by The Gettysburg Foundation and other generous benefactors. All NPAF programs are made possible through the philanthropic support of donors of all sorts ranging from corporate sponsors, small business, and art patrons and citizen-lovers of the Parks.

AMCD Calls on Secretary Pompeo to Condemn Arrest of Christian Activists in Lebanon

The arrest of Christian activists in or from Lebanon is a targeted political move to intimidate and deter Lebanese Christian activists.

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, July 19, 2018 / — Today the American Mideast Coalition for Democracy wrote to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urging him to condemn the arrest and interrogation of Maronite Christian activists in Lebanon and to address the matter directly with Lebanon’s Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil, who will be attending the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom event being held in Washington DC next week and hosted by Secretary Pompeo.

Last year (May 20, 2017), the Philos Project held a conference in New York City composed of Syriac Maronite Christians who are working to revive the ancient Aramaic language, culture, and Aramean identity. Aramaic was the common language spoken by Jesus in the First Century.

This conference, opened by Maronite bishop Gregory Mansour, included many community delegates from the US, Canada, Europe and the Middle East. It was attended by three Maronite Christian citizens of Israel, one Maronite priest and two brothers who have a program teaching Aramaic for the Maronite communities in Israel.

One of the attendees from Sweden, Roni Doumit, visited Lebanon a couple months ago. At that time, the Lebanese authorities questioned him about contacts with any citizens from what they call the “enemy state” (Israel). The authorities took the information and let him go. Last week he went back to Lebanon and was arrested and has been jailed. The formal allegation is “facilitating the connection with citizens of the enemy state.”

Another Lebanese architect, Amine Iskandar, was also called in for questioning last week. The authorities took his cell phone and asked him to come back to meet with them on July 18, 2018. After his initial questioning, he was asked to return again on July, 23. He is not sure what will happen and what kind of allegation will throw at him.

“Lebanese law forbids Lebanese citizens from visiting Israel or being in contact with Israeli authorities. It does not specifically forbid citizens from attending international conferences which happen to be attended by citizens from Israel,” explained AMCD Secretary, Rebecca Bynum. “Mr. Doumit, a joint Swedish-Lebanese citizen, and Mr. Amine Iskandar, a Lebanese citizen, belong to the Maronite community and were attending a conference organized by the Maronite community. It was chaired by a Maronite Bishop who is under the authority of the Maronite Patriarch in Lebanon, who himself has visited Jerusalem in 2014.”

“Besides,” added AMCD President, John Hajjar, “a world Maronite Conference in Rome has included dozens of Maronites living in Israel, who mingled with Maronites from Lebanon openly. Among the Maronites who attended that conference, there are many politicians who live in Lebanon. No one has questioned them for the past 18 years.”

“Even more,” he continued, “the New York Conference was attended by a number of Lebanese citizens, including an adviser to President Aoun of Lebanon, who himself met with the three Israeli citizens at the conference. And he was not questioned in Beirut. And last but not least, members of the Druze community of Israel often meet with Druze leaders from Lebanon either in Lebanon or Jordan or other parts in the Middle East, and Lebanese authorities do not bother them.”

We further observe that former Knesset member and Israeli citizen, Azmi Bishara, frequently travels to Lebanon for meetings including with officials. He was never questioned.

This and more, is evidence that the arrest of Christian activists in or from Lebanon, at the hands of the Lebanese security agencies, is a targeted political move to intimidate and deter Lebanese Christian activists who are working on reviving their language, the language of Jesus Christ, and defending the historical and cultural identity of the Lebanese Christian community. The two persons arrested, or about to be charged, have nothing to do with Lebanese-Israeli relations and are -as evidence would show- dedicating their lives to Christianity.

It is hoped that the Lebanese Foreign Minister Bassil will be confronted on this issue and asked how it is he can attend an event to advance religious freedom when his government is arresting Christians for the “crime” of meeting with other Maronite Christians from Israel? Why is it that only the Christians of Lebanon are being oppressed in this way?

AMCD implores Secretary Pompeo to demand the immediate release of Mr. Doumit and that Lebanese authorities cease their interrogation of Mr. Iskandar. AMCD further hopes that Secretary Pompeo will demand the full implementation of the UN Human Rights Declaration regarding the freedom of speech and freedom of assembly – even threatening to withhold US aid until this is achieved.

Furthermore, AMCD contacted members of congress and the appropriations committee in charge of funding for foreign aid to make sure funding will be reconsidered if this situation is not resolved immediately.

The Maronite Patriarch was also informed of the situation, as were other Lebanese politicians.
