From Kohl’s to Souls to Polls: Eagles Nest Church to March for Early Voting, Oct. 18th

Eagles Nest Church recently opened its new Roswell campus in a former Kohl’s store. Its “Kohl’s to Souls to the Polls” effort continues that transformation by bringing the congregation together around faith, community and civic participation.

Pastor Lee Jenkins urges faith leaders to educate congregations about the entire ballot and mobilize voters to participate in the Nov. 3 general election

ROSWELL, GA, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Faith will move from the sanctuary to the sidewalk on Sunday, Oct. 18, as Pastor Lee Jenkins leads hundreds of Eagles Nest Church members and community residents in a Souls to the Polls march to vote early in the General Election. The march centers on educating voters on the importance of civic engagement and increasing voter turnout.

This effort reflects Pastor Lee Jenkins’ conviction about the real impacts of voter suppression, and the belief that informed, prepared voters are the strongest answer to it.

The march will begin after the church’s 11:30 a.m. service, at 1:30 p.m. Participants will walk from Eagles Nest Church to the nearby East Roswell Library, an official Fulton County early voting location. Shuttles will be available for seniors and people with mobility needs. Organizers are calling on people across the faith community to take part in the election and nonpartisan mobilization effort.

“Faith calls us to care for our neighbors and the future we share. One way we live out that responsibility is by becoming informed and making our voices heard,” said Pastor Lee Jenkins. “This is not about telling anyone who to vote for. It is about making sure every eligible voter is prepared to vote and understands the choices on the ballot.”

Jenkins said voters should look beyond the races receiving the most attention and review their entire ballot before heading to the polls. He noted that too many eligible voters have stayed home in recent midterms, and that inaction can have lasting impact.

“Every part of the ballot matters, from the races people hear about most to the local contests and ballot measures,” Jenkins said. “In 2022, six out of 10 eligible Black men did not vote in the midterm elections. And it’s not just them. Many young people and college students who were eligible also stayed home. Those are voices that went unheard. These midterm elections will shape decisions that affect our daily lives and our communities.”

“We want to educate people on the importance of civic engagement,” Jenkins added. “The church cannot stand on the sidelines while decisions that affect our neighbors and our future are being made. We can help people get informed, prepare, and participate without telling them how to vote.”

Voters can check their registration, review their sample ballot, confirm early voting hours, and find official election information through Fulton County Voter and Electionshttps://fultoncountyga.gov/vote. Ballot contents and available voting locations may vary by voter. Additional voter information can be found at Georgia's My Voter Page.

“Souls to the Polls is a reminder that the future of our community is shaped by all of us,” Jenkins said. “We care about our country, our state, and our community, and we are showing it by showing up.”

Eagles Nest Church is not endorsing candidates or asking participants to support any party.
